Stories

Stories are Lucky Funatic's progression and idle income system. They're represented as collectible cards organized into themed categories, and each card generates passive Funz income per hour (PF/H). Think of it as a development tree where every card you buy and upgrade makes your wallet grow even while you're not playing.

Stories are the main way to transition from a pure tapper into an idle game. Early on, most of your Funz come from tapping. But as you invest in cards, your passive income grows and eventually outpaces what you can earn by tapping alone.

How Cards Work

Cards are the building blocks of your passive income empire. Here's how the system is structured:

  • Cards are organized into categories (e.g. "Heroes Citadel") with each category containing several themed cards
  • You can filter cards using tabs: All, Action, Decks, Twitch
  • Each card has a Funz price to acquire and displays its passive income rate in PF/H
  • Once owned, cards can be leveled up by paying more Funz, which increases their hourly income
  • Some cards have dependencies -- you need to own or level up other cards before you can acquire them

For example, in the screenshot above you can see three cards from the "Heroes Citadel" category:

  • Vastron -- already owned at level 9, generating +126.62/H, upgradeable for 9,965 Funz
  • Golden Hilt -- available to acquire for 1,300 Funz, will generate +80/H
  • Owl Helmet -- shows "DEPENDENCY", meaning another card needs to be leveled first

The progression within a category flows naturally: buy the cheaper cards first, level them up, and work your way toward the more expensive (and more rewarding) ones.

Special Cards

Here's where it gets really exciting. Each category has a Special Card -- a powerful card that can only be forged once you've maxed out every regular card in that category. Special cards have dramatically higher passive income compared to regular cards.

In the example above, the Dragon Slayer special card offers a whopping +225K/H passive income. To forge it, you need to max level all cards in the "Heroes Citadel" category: Vastron, Golden Hilt, Owl Helmet, and the rest. The bottom of the special card screen shows each required card with its upgrade status.

Special cards are the ultimate goal of the Stories system. A single special card can generate more passive income than dozens of regular cards combined.

Strategy

Stories are the primary way to grow your passive income, and smart card management can make a big difference. Here are some tips:

  1. Complete categories -- buying all cards in a category is the path to unlocking the special card, which has by far the best income
  2. Prioritize income-to-cost ratio -- some cards give you more PF/H per Funz spent than others. Level up the efficient ones first
  3. Check dependencies -- if a card says "DEPENDENCY", look at what it requires and work toward unlocking it
  4. Balance breadth and depth -- it's usually better to own many low-level cards across categories than to max out one category while ignoring others, since each card adds to your total PF/H immediately
  5. Save up for special cards -- once you're close to maxing a category, prioritize finishing it for the massive special card payoff

Under the hood: Card income scaling uses a formula with parameters A=1.12, B=0.7, C=2, D=1.1 that balances the progression curve so that early levels are cheap and rewarding while later levels require more investment. Card data (ownership, levels, income) is stored in MySQL with the card catalog and user-specific progress tracked separately.
